RESTAURATION
In 1825, when poverty and hardship left little hope for the future in Norway, 52 men, women, and children made an extraordinary choice. They boarded a small sailing vessel and set course for an unknown life across the Atlantic.
The ship was called Restauration.
Crowded, fragile, and no more than 54 feet long, the vessel carried its passengers into storms, uncertainty, and months at sea. Against all odds, they reached New York alive. No one was lost. And along the way, a child was born.
Two hundred years later, the journey is repeated.
Built as a faithful reconstruction using traditional wooden boatbuilding, Restauration sets sail once more — not in search of a new world, but to reconnect with a story that helped shape both Norway and America.
This is a powerful true story of courage, endurance, and the human need for hope — then and now.
